Trump: Will hold face-to-face talks with Iran soon, location in Pakistan

The Trump administration and Pakistani leaders have negotiated to end the 39-day war with Iran. Following this, Pakistan proposed holding talks in its capital, Islamabad, as early as the 10th.

Regarding who will represent the US in the negotiations, Trump stated in a phone interview: 'We will have Witkoff, Kushner, possibly JD, but I'm not sure. There are security risk considerations involved.'

Trump said the face-to-face talks would be held 'very soon, actually very soon.'

On February 7th, Trump accepted Iran's counter-proposal of 10 points on ending the conflict as a preliminary framework for building a permanent agreement, although some of the demands seem unlikely to reach an agreement.

The United States and Israel launched hostilities against Iran on February 28th, at which time the White House set four core objectives: ending Iran's nuclear program, destroying its navy, damaging its ballistic missile production base, and preventing Iran from supporting proxy forces.

The ceasefire agreement also includes the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz for international vessel passage.
