Taoyuan Longgang Rice Noodle Festival Kicks Off on the 25th, Featuring a New Outdoor Theater for Military Dependents' Village Culture

Taoyuan Mayor Chang San-cheng attended the "2026 Taoyuan Longgang Rice Noodle Festival" press conference held in Ximending, Taipei. He stated that the Longgang Rice Noodle Festival is a representative tourism event for Taoyuan and has been selected as an "International Featured Event" by the Tourism Administration, MOTC. This year's event will run from April 25 to May 2. In addition to continuing cultural performances and specialty cuisine, an outdoor theater is being built this year to deepen the cultural experience.

Su Wen-ling, Director-General of the Commerce Development Research Institute, Ministry of Economic Affairs, pointed out that after 16 years of development, the Taoyuan Longgang Rice Noodle Festival has become an important driving force for the Zhongzhen New Village and the charming Golden Triangle business district. This year's festival will also combine with activities like the Water Splashing Festival, which will effectively boost the local business district economy.

Wang Wei-chung, executive producer of "Delicious Boss," said the outdoor theater combines song, dance, and drama to present the historical context of Longgang's multiculturalism through local stories. The creative process incorporates field research and uses food culture to connect emotional memories, hoping to bring audiences a more profound cultural experience.

The Department of Tourism stated that the main theme of this year's festival is "Water Splashing and Fire Dancing," integrating the diverse cultures of Yunnan, Myanmar, and Thailand. Events such as the Water Splashing Festival, Torch Festival, Long Street Rice Noodle Banquet, and cultural mini-tours are planned, allowing the public to experience exotic vibes through blessing ceremonies and culinary experiences.
