President Lai Presents Plaque to Tainan Yongkang Wulong Palace; Unveiling on 4/10 to Feature Limited Commemorative Coins

Chairman Wang Daming of Wulong Palace stated today at a temple event press conference that President Lai, during his tenure as Tainan Mayor, experienced the 0206 earthquake in 2016, which caused severe damage, especially the collapse of the Wei Guan Building in Yongkang District. President Lai was on-site daily directing disaster relief efforts, and Wulong Palace, located near the disaster area, provided space for rescue operations. Wang Daming said that after years of effort, the former site of the Wei Guan Building has been rebuilt as "Chugouju" (出雲居), symbolizing the city's rebirth from fire and its move towards a new beginning. Wulong Palace has long served as an important local faith center, continuously supporting residents through difficult times after the disaster and comforting people with religious power, becoming a local spiritual pillar. The plaque presented by President Lai, along with his personal attendance at the unveiling, demonstrates the national leader's regard for local faith culture. He said that "Bao Jing You Min" not only represents divine protection but also carries the resilience and hope of Tainan moving forward after experiencing disasters. In the future, they will continue to integrate religious culture, community cohesion, and public welfare to create a stable and peaceful living environment, allowing the power of faith to be an important support for the city's sustainable development. Wang Daming also said that the temple has prepared a limited edition of 1688 commemorative coins, blessed by Xuanwu Shangdi of Lingxiao Baodian Wulong Palace and performed by High Master Da Fa Shi, which will be given to devotees attending the unveiling ceremony on the afternoon of the 10th, with one coin per person.
