On the day after the Qingming Festival holiday return day (the 6th), and yesterday morning, some flights were canceled due to dense fog. After consecutive days of transport efforts, the Kinmen Airport reported this morning that 742 people are still awaiting standby seats to return to Taiwan.

KMT legislator Chen Yu-chen posted on Facebook that due to the impact of weather over consecutive days, some passengers have not yet been smoothly transported. After coordinating with airlines and deploying military aircraft for transport support, she hopes to help standby passengers return safely to Taiwan soon and gradually alleviate passenger pressure. Today, military aircraft are adding 5 flights from Kinmen to Taipei, 1 to Taichung, and 2 to Kaohsiung, as well as 1 flight from Kaohsiung to Kinmen.

Kinmen County Government Tourism Department Director Xu Jixin told CNA reporters that to transport the hometown residents and passengers on standby at the airport during the Qingming holiday, the county government continues to monitor airport dynamics. County Magistrate Chen Fu-hai instructed the Tourism Department to handle this. After discussions with the airport and airlines to coordinate reserve capacity, it was decided to add extra flights.

Xu Jixin said that Mandarin Airlines has added an extra flight from Kinmen to Taichung at 4:30 PM, and Uni Air has added an extra flight from Kinmen to Taipei at 8:35 PM. The Kinmen County Government will provide necessary subsidies for aircraft traveling from Taiwan to Kinmen, hoping to transport passengers back to Taiwan as soon as possible.
