New Taipei Councilor Reveals Therapist Abused 8 Children; Police Detain Suspect

New Taipei City Councilor Huang Shu-chun questioned today that a speech therapist at a clinic in Banqiao allegedly abused multiple children with speech impediments in the treatment room for a long period. According to parental complaints and surveillance footage with only a 3-month retention period, over 10 children may have been victimized. Upon receiving the report, the police immediately requested the prosecutor to direct the investigation, searched the clinic the next day, and after prosecutor's interrogation, applied for detention, which the court granted. Currently, 8 children are confirmed victims, and the Social Affairs Department and Health Bureau will provide assistance. (Editor: Li Heng-shan) 1150407
