President of the Executive Yuan Cho Jung-tai stated recently that public contact by party representatives or individuals with substantial political influence with the Chinese Communist Party requires high-intensity supervision. If any illegal acts are clearly committed, the government must conduct "post-disaster reconstruction" to rebuild a set of strong and effective legal regulations to ensure national security.

During the Taichung City Council's regular session today, Lu Shiow-yen, before the meeting, was interviewed about her views on the "Zheng Xi Hui." Lu Shiow-yen stated that one must be brave in doing what is right, and promoting cross-strait peace is the right thing to do. She reiterated her support for the "Zheng Xi Hui" and also wished Cheng Li-wen success in bringing back fruitful and concrete results.

Regarding the "Zheng Xi Hui," DPP Taichung City Council caucus whip Chou Yung-hung pointed out that the KMT has already defined Cheng Li-wen's trip to China as a "lying flat journey," and everyone should not assume this matter is unrelated to local affairs. If Cheng Li-wen continues to obstruct budgets and military purchases after her return, benefits for commuters, renters, the elderly, and children will be held up. Cheng Li-wen and Xi Jinping discussed what, and what Cheng Li-wen reported back to the KMT legislative caucus and even Lu Shiow-yen, must bear legal responsibility. (Editor: Chang Ming-kun) 1150408
