The KMT Taipei City Chapter's primary registration for the nomination of 33 council seats in 2026 is divided into 2 phases. The first phase for Districts 1, 2, 3, and the lowland and mountain indigenous districts has already closed.
The second phase of council primary registration for Zhongshan-Datong District (District 4), Zhongzheng-Wanhua District (District 5), and Daan-Wenshan District (District 6) ended today.
The KMT Taipei City Chapter announced the primary registration lists for Districts 4 to 6 this afternoon. The city chapter will nominate 4 seats in the Zhongshan-Datong District; all 3 incumbent councilors have registered, and 2 newcomers, Lu Wei and Li I-ju, are running, so the final seat will be chosen between the two.
The KMT Taipei City Chapter will nominate 4 seats in the Zhongzheng-Wanhua District; all 3 incumbent councilors have registered, while Councilor Ying Hsiao-wei, who is involved in the Core Pacific City case, did not register. Three newcomers, Kuo Yin-lan, Chang Yen-ting, and Chou Shih-hsiung, will compete for 1 seat.
The KMT Taipei City Chapter announced that for the Daan-Wenshan District council primary registration, no primary is needed as there are no new candidates.
For the Zhongshan-Datong and Zhongzheng-Wanhua districts that require primaries, the KMT Taipei City Chapter will hold coordination meetings on the 16th and announce the poll results on May 14. (Editor: Long Po-an) 1150409
