Iran's New Leader Takes Hardline Stance in Letter: Will Not Waive Rights in Ceasefire Talks

In a letter posted on social media today, Mojtaba praised the resolute stance shown by the Iranian people after his father, former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed on the first night of the attacks.

In the letter, Mojtaba stated that the Iranian people have transformed their "mourning into an epic struggle," and that Iran will not abandon its rights in the ceasefire talks involving the United States held in Pakistan on Saturday.

Mojtaba's letter noted: "Even as negotiations are underway, the participation of the public remains crucial. The voice of the people influences the outcome, just as the power demonstrated by mass movements does."

Mojtaba also sent a message to Iran's neighbors, warning that "we will seek compensation for all losses and the blood of our martyrs," and indicating that the management of the Hormuz Strait will be "elevated to a new level."

Mojtaba assumed power following his father's assassination. He has yet to make a public appearance, leading to outside speculation that he may have been injured or even killed in subsequent attacks by the US and Israel. (Compiled by: Qu Hsiang-ping) 1150410
