Reuters reported that Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran will not abandon the Lebanese people.
Since clashes erupted last month with Hezbollah, a fundamentalist Shiite militia, Israel launched its largest airstrikes on Lebanon yesterday, killing over 250 people. Pezeshkian made this statement today.
Following Israel's massive airstrikes on Lebanon, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said today that Lebanon is a critical part of a two-week ceasefire between Iran and the United States, warning that violating the ceasefire would bring severe consequences.
Ghalibaf posted on the X platform: "As an ally of Iran, Lebanon and the entire Axis of Resistance are an inseparable part of the ceasefire."
He said: "Violating the ceasefire will exact a clear price and there will be a strong response."
