According to Agence France-Presse, Iran's Supreme National Security Council issued a statement through state media, pointing out: "Recently, while the Pakistan Army Chief visited Tehran to mediate as an intermediary, the US side presented a new proposal. The Islamic Republic of Iran is currently reviewing it and has not yet responded."

The statement further emphasized that the Iranian negotiating delegation "will not make the slightest compromise, concession, or yielding, and will fully defend the interests of the Iranian nation."

Pakistan has recently become the main mediator between the US and Iran, and hosted the first round of talks last week, but the US and Iran failed to reach an agreement.
