2026 Taijiang Cultural Festival Opens 4/11: Bringing Art Back to Life

The Tainan City Government's Cultural Affairs Bureau announced today that the 2026 Taijiang Cultural Festival will kick off on April 11th with the 'Eight Immortals Chasing Waves Displaying Miracles - Taijiang Parade,' starting from Haiwei Chaohuang Temple and proceeding to the Taijiang Cultural Center. The parade will feature large puppets and student troupes, creating a lively and ceremonial cultural scene.

On the same day, the 'Village Story Box - Mobile Theater' and amateur co-performances will present local stories in diverse formats. The 'Slowly Come Education Market . Little Boss Experience Program' will focus on processions, birthday celebrations, and prayers, guiding children through games and hands-on activities to understand and participate in traditional culture.

The Cultural Affairs Bureau plans to host nearly 20 performances, 3 themed exhibitions, and multiple parent-child and inclusive activities during the 2026 Taijiang Cultural Festival from April to June, covering music, theater, dance, and environmental theater. These efforts aim to deepen the cultural identity of the Taijiang area, drive regional tourism and cultural participation, truly bring art back into daily life, and form a sustainable cultural ecosystem.
