Taiwan High Speed Rail Adds 30 Services for Mother's Day, Tickets Available from April 10

To welcome the warm Mother's Day, Taiwan High Speed Rail issued a press release stating that it plans Mother's Day transportation from May 8th to 11th, adding a total of 30 services, including 15 southbound and 15 northbound, providing a total of 708 train services. Tickets for all services during the transportation period will be available for purchase starting at 0:00 on April 10th. Taiwan High Speed Rail also plans for southbound/northbound services before 8:00 AM (excluding 8:00 AM sharp) on May 9th, with early bird discounts available for every service, while supplies last. Passengers are advised to book early. To encourage university students to take the high-speed rail home quickly and spend more time with their mothers, Taiwan High Speed Rail pointed out that it will provide an additional 8 "university student 50% discount trains" on May 8th and 11th, in addition to the existing university student discount services. For periods with higher demand for non-reserved seats in the section north of Taichung during the transportation period, Taiwan High Speed Rail stated that it will increase the number of non-reserved seat carriages to 9 for some sectional trains, including southbound services from 3 PM to 9 PM on May 8th, 4 PM to 9 PM on May 10th, and 5 PM to 7 PM on May 11th, as well as northbound services from 2 PM to 10 PM on May 10th. All trains operating in the Nangang to Taichung section during the aforementioned periods will be equipped with 9 non-reserved seat carriages and stop at all stations along the way. Taiwan High Speed Rail stated that it will provide 4 extended service trains during the Mother's Day transportation period, all arriving at their terminal stations after 12 AM (latest by 0:30 AM), and equipped with 2 non-reserved seat carriages (carriages 11-12). Passengers who need reserved seats are advised to make good use of these extended service trains. Taiwan High Speed Rail said that passengers can first check the "Transportation Period Sales Information" announced on the THSR corporate website to avoid peak times for popular services. Passengers taking the extended service trains mentioned above are advised to pay attention to and arrange their connecting transportation to and from the station in advance to ensure a smooth journey. Taiwan High Speed Rail reminds passengers holding early bird discount tickets to carry the original "identity document" (must be a government-issued document with a photo, ID number, and other information sufficient to verify identity) matching the information on the ticket for inspection. If a qualified document cannot be presented, tickets will be reissued according to the "no-ticket travel" regulations, and an additional 50% of the fare for the traveled section may be charged.
