The Control Yuan announced via press release that in response to the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology and to enhance government governance and administrative assistance efficiency, it is holding a three-phase 'AI x Digital Audit Innovation Application' workshop starting today. Over 250 personnel from various units and Control Yuan members are expected to participate.
Li Hong-chun, speaking at the opening ceremony today, stated that the Control Yuan is the nation's highest supervisory body. Current AI applications have expanded to various fields, including government governance, data analysis, administrative assistance, and even smart buildings and smart cities. Control Yuan personnel, in their daily duties, face intricate administrative processes and complex data analysis and comparison, all of which urgently require AI tools for assistance.
Li Hong-chun said that the purpose of this workshop is to strengthen correct understanding and appropriate application of AI tools, thereby improving overall administrative efficiency and quality. He expressed hope that while embracing new technologies, information security and risk control must be balanced, establishing correct and prudent concepts for AI usage.
The Control Yuan noted that this morning's workshop invited Dr. Hsieh Pang-chang, Honorary Chairman of the Taiwan AI Development Association (TIAI), to lecture on 'Basic Concepts and Applications of AI,' helping to establish foundational knowledge of generative AI and awareness of security risks. In the afternoon, the Audit Department team shared various digital audit achievements, including the use of generative AI to build audit assistants and public opinion analysis modules, and the application of machine learning to inspect the implementation of solar photovoltaic policies and high-risk government procurement cases.
The Control Yuan stated that it will draw on digital experience in the future, continue to discover potential AI application scenarios, and deliberate on introducing internal governance mechanisms to lay a solid foundation for subsequent promotion of smart administration and inject more innovative thinking.
