The Ocean Affairs Council Coast Guard Administration today issued a press release stating that in the early hours of the morning, the 12th (Kinmen) Patrol Area detected an unidentified target on the sea heading towards Kinmen's coast. The situation was closely monitored and handled throughout. At 0:12 AM, Kinmen Coast Guard vessels 10073, CP-1022, and CP-1051 discovered a Chinese 'unnamed' fishing vessel 2.4 nautical miles northwest of Tianpu, 0.6 nautical miles within prohibited waters.

The Coast Guard stated that despite broadcasting a command to stop for inspection, the vessel refused to comply. Boarding and detention operations were then carried out. Preliminary checks revealed two Chinese crew members and a batch of fish, with no pork, beef, or related products.

The Coast Guard pointed out that this cross-border Chinese 'unnamed' vessel belongs to the category of illegal vessels with 'no name,' 'no vessel certificate,' and 'no port of registry.' 'Three-no' vessels cannot be identified, their hull structure and crew qualifications have not been inspected, posing navigation safety concerns. They often cause capsizing accidents due to illegal operations and evasive maneuvers, leading to dangers and conflicts in maritime law enforcement. To maintain maritime safety and protect marine resources, the Coast Guard strictly enforces against such illegal vessels.

The Coast Guard Administration stated that China's continuous threats and harassment have never ceased. All personnel of the Coast Guard Administration monitor the dynamics of the surrounding waters 24 hours a day, performing national security, public order, and safety missions. These substantive jurisdiction actions are the best embodiment of national sovereignty.

The Coast Guard Administration pointed out that against any attempts to challenge Taiwan's jurisdiction or infringe upon its maritime areas, whether gray zone activities or 'three-no' vessels, the Coast Guard Administration will continue to stand on the front line of the nation, resolutely defending national sovereignty through practical law enforcement actions and ensuring maritime safety and the rights of the people.
