Chuo Fukken Consultants Celebrates 80th Anniversary with Ceremony, Unveils Commemorative Logo and Special Website

Chuo Fukken Consultants Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Higashiyodogawa-ku, Osaka; President and CEO: Yasuo Shirozu; hereinafter "CFK") celebrated its 80th anniversary on June 1, 2026. To commemorate this milestone, on June 2, the company held an "80th Anniversary Ceremony," with its Osaka headquarters as the main venue and other branches connected via web conferencing systems.

The ceremony featured an address by President and CEO Yasuo Shirozu, recognition of long-serving employees, and an introduction to commemorative projects. As part of these initiatives, the company also launched the "Let's Create Chuo Fukken Theory Together" project, an initiative involving all employees.

Launch of the "Let's Create Chuo Fukken Theory Together" Project

As the first phase of this company-wide initiative, employees were invited to share their thoughts on "What kind of company is Chuo Fukken?" and "What values have we cherished?" via Padlet. On the day of the ceremony, the submitted messages were projected onto a large screen in the "X-sta (Cross-sta)" at the head office. This provided a valuable opportunity for employees across all branches to share the values and decision-making criteria they cherish in their daily work, expressed in their own words.

Recognition of Long-Serving Employees

A total of 36 employees were honored for their long service, with 30, 20, and 10 years of dedication to the company's business.

Commendation Ceremony for Professional Engineer Examination Passers (Reiwa 7th Year)

A commendation ceremony was also held for those who passed the Professional Engineer Examination in the Reiwa 7th year. In the presence of employees from all branches, heartfelt congratulations were extended to the successful candidates who overcame this challenging examination, met with warm applause from both the venue and those watching remotely.

Comment from President and CEO Yasuo Shirozu

June 1, 1946. The year after the end of the war, the Association for Reconstruction and Construction Technology, the predecessor of CFK, was established as a corporate juridical person for post-war reconstruction. Eighty years have passed since then, and our present is built upon the history of our predecessors who approached their work with sincerity and continuously took on challenges. The average age (business duration) of Japanese companies is 34 years, and for service industries, it is 28 years. Companies with over 80 years of history represent only a few percent of all companies, and I am reminded of the weight of 80 years.

On the other hand, Japan has approximately 45,000 long-established companies with over 100 years of history, accounting for about half of the world's total. The majority of companies with over 1,000 years of history are in Japan, and the oldest company in Japan was founded in 578 AD. Considering this, we are still young. We bear the responsibility of passing on our legacy to the next era, while paying respect to the path forged by our predecessors.

However, the times ahead will be challenging. For example, how will we address global environmental issues? How will we respond to the frequent natural disasters? How will we recover Japan's lost 40 years? How will we create new value while preserving Japanese culture and identity? With the public-minded spirit characteristic of CFK, born from a corporate juridical person established for post-war reconstruction, we will contribute to citizens, the environment, and future society.

Eighty years since our founding. We will strive to balance tradition and innovation. In our medium-term management plan (2025-2027), formulated last fiscal year, we have set "Regeneration and Creation" as our theme. We will return to the pioneering spirit of the post-war era, refine our engineering and management skills, which are the global standards for consultants, and furthermore, challenge new roles beyond the scope of a consultant to proactively solve societal issues. Under slogans that CFK has advocated in recent years, such as "Project Orientation," "Pursuit of Essentials," and "Unparalleled Curiosity," we will co-create the future we desire with stakeholders inside and outside the company.
