The average for 115 companies across all industries was 2.52 months. For the same companies, this was 0.01 months lower than the same period last year (2.53 months). The maximum number of months decreased to 3.65 months from 3.96 months last year, while the minimum number of months increased to 1.34 months from 1.15 months last year [Figure 4].

"Survey on 2026 Summer Bonus and Lump-sum Payment Settlement Levels"
2. Survey Target
TSE Prime-listed companies, primarily those whose labor unions are affiliated with major industrial federations. If a holding company is a TSE Prime-listed company, its main subsidiaries were included in the survey. The industry classification in [Figures 1 and 4] is based on Toyo Keizai Inc.'s 'Kaisha Shikiho' (Japan Company Handbook). "Commerce" includes wholesale and retail trade. "Information and Communications" includes IT-related fields, as well as newspapers, publishing, and broadcasting.
3. Compilation Target
Among the survey targets, companies (unions) that had settled or decided on their 2026 summer bonus and lump-sum payment at the time of the survey, and for which the amounts or months for "2026 Summer," "2025 Summer," and "2025 Year-end" could be ascertained.
4. Number of Companies Compiled
113 companies for amount compilation. 115 companies for months compilation.
5. Scope and Method of Compilation
The scope of compilation is, in principle, the average per union member (partially including settlement levels based on "age points," "standard workers," and "average for all employees"). Compilation is by simple average (i.e., the per-person average for each company is simply summed and divided by the number of companies compiled).
