Inuneko Seikatsu Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku, Tokyo; CEO: Atsushi Sato; hereinafter 'Inuneko Seikatsu') will plan and provide initial capital for the Fund to support these sites and save as many lives as possible. Starting today, Inuneko Seikatsu will conduct an awareness campaign on social media regarding the issue of animal hoarding and will make donations to the Fund based on user engagement.

Public applications for grants targeting organizations active in animal hoarding rescue will begin in early June, with support being disbursed sequentially thereafter.

■ Background: The Need for 'Intermediary Support' to Break the Cycle of Hoarding

While the number of dogs and cats euthanized in Japan is on a downward trend, animal hoarding remains a serious social issue. Cats, in particular, have high reproductive capabilities. Without proper spaying and neutering, they multiply at an unexpected speed. Combined with the isolation and poverty of owners, this evolves into a multifaceted social problem, leading to the deterioration of animal welfare, the collapse of owners' lives, and local community conflicts.

To achieve zero euthanasia, it is essential to intervene before the situation becomes dire and 'close the tap' on reproduction through spaying and neutering. This Fund will support the mobility of rescue organizations on the front lines during the critical rescue and breeding prevention phases. By establishing a system for rapid screening and fund disbursement, we will reduce the burden on sites by delivering necessary funds as quickly as possible where they are needed most.

■ SNS Awareness Campaign and Donation Execution

Coinciding with the establishment of the Fund, Inuneko Seikatsu will conduct an SNS campaign on its official X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram accounts to raise awareness about animal hoarding.

The campaign aims to educate the public on the reality of hoarding, which often grows silently in isolation without malice, and the importance of spaying and neutering to stop it. Engagement from users will be converted into donations from Inuneko Seikatsu to the Fund, with 100% of the proceeds reaching the grant recipients.
