White Company Certification is based on surveys of more than 1,000 companies, from which 70 questions were developed to identify the initiatives companies should undertake to become more employee-friendly. These 70 questions are divided into seven categories: business model/productivity, flexible working styles, health management, human resource development/work engagement, diversity and inclusion, risk management, and compliance with labor laws. Certification is granted after confirming whether companies have implemented such initiatives. Among certification organizations in Japan, White Company Certification is the only system that comprehensively evaluates and assesses HR systems and initiatives rather than focusing on a single measure. As of May 2026, approximately 668 companies have obtained certification in total.
