Yamaha Music Foundation (Headquarters: Meguro-ku, Tokyo; Chairman: Takuya Nakata) will hold the "Yamaha Fellowship Concert 2026 ~A Competition of Young Masters~" on August 30, 2026 (Sun) at Yamaha Hall (Chuo-ku, Tokyo).

This performance is a concert by scholarship students of the Yamaha Music Support Program, featuring seven young musicians who have won awards in international competitions. Shun Oi, conductor and pianist, will serve as the music producer, delivering a gem of a stage woven by these young talents.

Chikyu Shinozaki (Violin / 2026 Scholarship Student)

Born in Ibaraki Prefecture in 2011. Has won numerous domestic and international competitions and performed as a soloist with orchestras. Currently enrolled in the music department of Toho Girls' High School as a scholarship student.

Takuya Matsumoto (Bassoon / 2025 Scholarship Student)

Born in Osaka Prefecture in 2001. After graduating from Kyoto City University of Arts, he is currently pursuing a master's degree at the Zurich University of the Arts in Switzerland. He has performed with domestic orchestras and is active as a soloist.

Keisuke Shima (Tuba / 2025 Scholarship Student)

Born in Hokkaido. Winner of the VTEC Solo Competition and 2nd prize at the 39th Japan Wind and Percussion Competition. Completed his master's degree at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover in Germany with the highest honors and continues his studies based in Germany.

Toi Harada (Classical Guitar / 2025 Scholarship Student)

Born in Yokohama. Currently enrolled in a master's program at the Royal Academy of Music in the UK. His album "Toi" was selected as a special recommendation by "Record Geijutsu." He has won the Julian Bream Prize for four consecutive years and won numerous international competitions.

Riko Imai (Piano / 2024 Scholarship Student)

After graduating from Tokyo University of the Arts, she is currently enrolled in a master's program at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in Austria. Participated in the main competition of the 18th International Chopin Piano Competition. Has won numerous domestic and international awards and performs in various locations.

Erika Otani (Classical Guitar / 2023 Scholarship Student)

Born in the USA in 2003. While in high school, she won three major domestic guitar competitions. Appeared in the film "Where Is My Current Location." Released the album "ERICA" in 2020. Currently enrolled at the Conservatoire de Lille in France.

Hayata Morimoto (Piano / 2022 Scholarship Student)

Born in Kyoto Prefecture in 2004. Gained international attention at the age of 14 by participating in the Van Cliburn International Junior Piano Competition. First prize at the 2022 Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition. Currently enrolled at École Normale de Musique de Paris.

Shun Oi (Music Producer for this Concert / 2018 Scholarship Student)

Born in Tokyo in 1993. First prize at the 2022 Hiroshima International Conducting Competition and second prize in the conducting division at the 2025 Khachaturian International Competition. Studied conducting, piano, and early music in Europe, and is active across various fields.

Yamaha Music Foundation established the "Yamaha Music Support Program" in 1999 to support students who aspire to pursue advanced musical studies both domestically and internationally. "Scholarship Support" is for students with outstanding musical abilities who are expected to play leading roles in the music world in the future, as well as those who are earnestly engaged with music and working towards specific goals. For the 2026 academic year, five individuals have been selected for support. Through our support programs, we strive to further expand the reach of music and develop music culture in society.
