Effects of Expanding In-house Developed Electronic Application Functionality
While over 80% (*2) of health insurance associations do not support electronic applications for dependent status change notifications (procedures for adding dependents), our association has enabled electronic applications for this process on the mykenpo portal for members and participating businesses since April 2026. This has reduced the administrative burden for participating businesses and administrative scriveners, and achieved approximately a 20% (*3) reduction in the association's administrative workload for dependent addition applications.
Reducing the Burden on Users such as Members, Participating Businesses, and Administrative Scriveners
Startups expand rapidly in terms of organization relative to their back-office staff numbers, making dependent addition procedures a crucial and frequent application. Given that startups are where many individuals in their childbearing and child-rearing years are active, we believe the impact of reducing this burden is significant. With the introduction of our new features, we aim not only to alleviate operational burdens but also to improve the user experience for members, participating businesses, and administrative scriveners.
Reduction of Burden Associated with Procedures
We have simplified the process for insured individuals by clarifying unfamiliar technical terms and necessary documents, enabling smoother applications.
We have prevented discrepancies in documents between insured individuals, participating businesses, and administrative scriveners in advance, reducing the burden of individual communication.

Improved Transparency of Procedures
It is now possible to check the status of applications online in real-time, which previously required individual inquiries.
Representatives of participating businesses and administrative scriveners can check the submission status by insured individuals, and insured individuals can check the status of proxy submissions by participating businesses.
Management screen for representatives of participating businesses and administrative scriveners
Reduced Time to Complete Procedures
Faster review and eligibility management are now possible from application to approval compared to before.
New Electronic Application Features Released in July 2026
In July 2026, we will release new electronic application functions for two types of applications.
Function to Confirm Cash Benefit Application Review Results and Download Decision Notices Online
For benefit review results and payment amounts related to applications for lump-sum child birth allowance, maternity allowance, sickness and injury allowance, and medical expenses, decision notices indicating approval or denial will be available for confirmation and download through the various notification functions on mykenpo for members (*4).

Start of mykenpo Support for 2026 Annual Verification
Starting in fiscal year 2026, responses for dependent eligibility verification surveys and joint spousal dependency verification surveys can be conducted more easily on mykenpo.
Insured individuals subject to verification will be able to respond via mykenpo, and depending on their responses, necessary supporting documents will be displayed and can be uploaded online, completing the process. Clear guidance on required documents allows for smooth progress without confusion.
Response and required document application screen for insured individuals
Furthermore, business and administrative scrivener representatives can view a list of their company's verification subjects and their submission status (not submitted, submitted, review complete, etc.) on mykenpo. They can also respond and submit on behalf of individuals if necessary. This facilitates progress sharing among members, businesses, and administrative scriveners, reducing the operational burden of confirmation and reminders.
