The "Sendai Miyagi Social Hub," which works to solve regional issues by bringing together diverse stakeholders, and "manaco General Incorporated Association," which creates spaces for children in Miyagi Prefecture, are co-hosting the third session in their series on school refusal, titled "A Real Strategy Session to Shape the 'First Step' We Can Take for Children Experiencing School Refusal!" This event will be held at the Sendai Mediatheque on July 19, 2026 (Sun).
Currently, supporting children experiencing school refusal and creating spaces for them is a pressing social issue.
Through the first session, "How to Spend Time," and the second session, "Learning from Free School Sites," we have deepened our understanding of the current situation surrounding school refusal.
This final session of the three-part series will be a practical workshop based on what we have learned so far, where all participants will consider and shape "concrete actions (strategies) that can be taken starting tomorrow."
There is absolutely no need to worry that "I can't do anything big..."
Anyone with a warm desire to help the children in their community is welcome.
First-time participants and those wishing to observe are also welcome.
【3 Key Points of This Event】
1 Anyone with "Passion" Can Be a Protagonist!
This is a safe environment where anyone, even without specialized knowledge, such as those interested in pro bono or volunteer work, can easily share ideas.
2 Brainstorm Directly with Expert Guests!
Guests actively working on the front lines of various themes, such as creating spaces and collaborating with government agencies, will join each table as facilitators.

You can move freely between tables focusing on four different themes. Participate based on what you want to do or how you feel on the day.

2 How to Collaborate with Schools and Government Agencies?
What if schools, government agencies, and people in the community could connect more effectively?
3 How to Share the Voices of Those Involved and Their Guardians?
How can the true feelings of the children and their families be shared and accepted with peace of mind?
4 Raising Awareness and Increasing Support
How can we reach more people to let them know "there is a place like this"? How can we increase the number of supporting friends?
