We support the 'April Dream' initiative, which aims to make April 1st a day to share dreams. This press release represents the dream of the General Incorporated Association HelloWorld.
A society where it is natural for everyone to have a friend in every country around the world.
A state where people across the globe are connecting through IntEx (*).
And a state where children worldwide are connected peacefully, with their eyes shining toward the realization of a better world.
We will realize such a world.
(*) 'IntEx' is a collective term for International Exchange / International Experience. It is a concept that captures activities where people engage in international exchange for the purpose of multicultural understanding, regardless of whether it is real or online. 'IntEx' is a registered trademark of our partner, HelloWorld Inc.
Our 'City Study Abroad' Experience
We deliver 'City Study Abroad,' operated by our partner HelloWorld Inc., together with the company and other cooperating firms. 'City Study Abroad' is a homestay experience with foreign families living in Japan. To date, we have provided IntEx (cross-cultural/international exchange experiences) to over 15,100 people with host families from over 80 countries in the Kanto and Okinawa regions.
Compared to traditional overseas study, this IntEx program is less burdensome in terms of cost and time, making it easier for many to participate. However, the costs associated with participation and travel to the venue can still be a burden for some families. Therefore, with the goal of 'delivering study abroad experiences to all children' regardless of economic circumstances or academic performance, we established the 'City Study Abroad Fund' in 2021 to provide free IntEx opportunities to low-income households.
Furthermore, starting in 2024, we have been implementing the 'Know The World - Awich Global Education Project (Atlanta Study Abroad & City Study Abroad)' by Awich, the queen of the Japanese HIPHOP scene from Okinawa, expanding our reach.
We will continue to aim for the realization of our dream: 'delivering high-quality IntEx to all children, regardless of economic status.' By doing so, we will contribute to the realization of a society without division, where people acknowledge diverse cultures and backgrounds.
