'Night Fields' Become a New Kyoto Tourism Experience: 'Night Farm 2026' Announced

General Incorporated Association BNR (Nagaokakyo City, Kyoto Prefecture) will host 'Night Farm 2026' from July 3 (Fri) to November 3 (Tue), 2026, where visitors can enjoy harvesting Kyoto vegetables, stone-oven pizza making, and dining in illuminated night fields.

'Night Farm' is an experiential content where visitors enjoy harvesting, pizza making, and dining set in 'night fields.' In 2025, it attracted approximately 1,400 visitors, gaining attention as a new tourism attraction in the Kyoto Nishiyama area.

In 2026, the theme is 'Night Farm where the enjoyment changes monthly,' with a revamped program. Based on the model cultivated in Kyoto Nishiyama, expansion into Kyotanabe City, Kyotamba Town, and the Yatsugatake area in Nagano Prefecture will also begin.

■ Evolution as Night Agri-tourism originating from Kyoto
Against the backdrop of increasing inbound tourists and rising needs for experiential tourism, the 'night-time economy' has become a national theme. However, most night-time tourism content is concentrated in urban areas, with limited options in suburban and satoyama areas. BNR is committed to creating new experiential value by combining 'Agriculture x Food x Night Tourism,' utilizing agriculture, nature, and regional scenery as tourism resources. Night Farm treats farmland not just as a production site but as a 'place where people gather and experience the region.'

■ Night Farm in 2026
This year, the program has evolved into a structure where 'experiences change monthly.' Designing is underway for various ways to enjoy, such as nagashi-somen (flowing noodles), collaborations with other industries in summer, and seasonal autumn harvest experiences.

■ Start of expansion into other regions
Starting in 2026, Night Farm will begin expanding into other regions through a business alliance model. Currently, expansion is planned for Kyotanabe City (Kyoto), Kyotamba Town (Kyoto), and the Yatsugatake area (Nagano), with trials of 'regional versions of Night Farm' utilizing local resources underway.
