42 Tokyo, a tuition-free engineering training institution originating from France, will host the 'Metropolitan Programming Experience - Python Quest Summer 1-Day Camp' free of charge for high school students on August 19, 2026.

To date, 42 Tokyo has provided programming learning opportunities to numerous high school students from general, technical, and correspondence high schools, regardless of prior programming experience.

This time, in collaboration with the Digital Agency and metropolitan education boards, the event will offer unique learning experiences not available in regular school curricula. By leveraging 42 Tokyo's innovative learning model—where students learn from each other without formal classes or instructors—the event aims to cultivate talent equipped with the qualities and skills needed for the next generation.

■ Event Overview: 'Metropolitan Programming Experience - Python Quest Summer 1-Day Camp'

A one-day intensive program where high school students from the metropolitan area form teams of 3–4 to learn the basics of the programming language 'Python'.

Participants will learn the fundamentals of 'Python'—a programming language widely used by engineers—through a gamified format using 42 Tokyo's original learning platform, 'Python Quest'. The program is designed for complete beginners and enables participants to read and write Python code from scratch.

By incorporating 42 Tokyo's innovative learning methods—'project-based learning', where students tackle challenges without traditional lectures or textbooks, and 'peer learning', where students teach and learn from each other—the event aims to develop problem-solving and communication skills.
