General Incorporated Association CDO Club Japan will host the CAIO / CDO Summit Tokyo 2026 Summer on June 3rd and 4th, 2026. This is Japan's only event where CDOs (Chief Digital Officers) and CAIOs (Chief AI Officers), who lead digital transformation in companies, gather in one place.

The Great Human Transition in the Age of AI
~How shall we live in the AI era?~

The evolution of AI technologies, including AI agents, is changing the very premise of digital transformation in enterprises. From now on, the essential debate will not be about whether to introduce AI or which tools to adopt, but how to redesign competitive advantage, organizational management, human roles, working environments, and decision-making processes based on the premise of AI.

CDO Club Japan perceives that 2026 will be the year when DX transcends mere technical implementation and partial optimization, entering a phase of fundamentally questioning the raison d'être of humans, organizations, and companies. What values should a company preserve, what should it change, and what future should it envision in the AI era? The summit provides a platform for CAIOs, CDOs, and other leaders of management and digital transformation to confront these issues head-on.

Public CAIO/CDO RoundTable: Leaders from Advanced AI/DX Companies Discuss the Outlook

CDO Club Japan believes 2026 will be the turning point where the evolution of AI agents starts a major shift toward a transformed workforce. We consider it crucial to effectively link two perspectives: the individual view of 'how to understand and change oneself as a business person' and the executive strategy view of 'how to capture these changes early and expand them into organizational activities.'

At the CAIO / CDO Summit Tokyo 2026 Summer, CDOs and CAIOs from major Japanese companies will gather to discuss two themes:

1. How shall we live in the AI era?
- The future of individual work styles: Changes and evolution of the workforce.
To avoid missing the two transformations in work styles caused by the accelerated spread of AI:
Liberation: Return to 'Humanity' from white-collar 'Tasks.' Much of the knowledge work that has bound white-collar workers—such as creating documents or coordination—will become delegable to AI agents. Using AI will become a prerequisite; the question will be how to turn the newly freed time into rich experiences and creative dialogue.
Expansion: Leveraging 'Physical Skills.' While knowledge becomes a commodity, 'on-site intuition,' 'physical skills,' and 'interpersonal empathy'—which AI cannot fully replace—will become vital assets in Japan. By equipping these with AI intelligence (AX) and connecting them to the physical world through Physical AI, there is an opportunity to leverage Japan's unique 'site power' (Genba-ryoku) globally.

2. The Great Human Transition in the Age of AI
- Restructuring as an Executive
Executives should not let transformation become dependent on individuals or specific sites: Practice of Human-Centric Orchestration. To make 'liberation' and 'expansion' function effectively, leaders must have the vision and determination to redesign AI, data, and environments around people, moving away from rigid organizational management and conventional concepts.

Key discussion points include:
- Clarifying company value and mission in the AI era.
- Comprehensive maintenance of AI x Data.
- Building platforms to assetize and leverage individual 'tacit knowledge.'
- Designing collaborative environments between people and AI.
- Redesigning culture and defining new organizational ethics for human-AI coexistence.
