Health Support Aiming for 1 Trillion Yen in Medical Cost Reduction: Demonstrating in Disaster-Affected Areas 'After News Coverage Fades' — Continuous Health Support and Training Local Instructors

This symposium is a recovery support activity aimed at continuous health support and community revitalization in the areas affected by the Noto Peninsula earthquake.

Association members and general participants will visit the affected areas, experience the current situation, and deliver an approach to "symptoms that can be expected to improve with exercise, not just medicine and surgery."

The Japan Spine Conditioning Association has previously conducted support activities in areas affected by the Kumamoto Earthquake and the Hokkaido Eastern Iburi Earthquake.

What we felt during these activities was that the most difficult time for affected areas is "after the news coverage fades."

Due to prolonged temporary housing life and lack of exercise, the number of people suffering from physical ailments such as lower back pain, stiff shoulders, joint pain, and nerve symptoms is increasing. At the same time, many continue to suffer, being told "it won't heal anywhere" or "surgery is the only option."

Through this symposium, including Spine Conditioning experience sessions and individual guidance, we aim to provide continuous health support to the people in the affected areas. Furthermore, we envision that many instructors will emerge from the Toyama and Wajima regions in the future, establishing a community-based support system.

Aiming to solve social issues, annual medical cost reduction estimated at 960 million yen, nationwide target of 1 trillion yen

Spine Conditioning is an exercise program based on:

As it can be expected to change symptoms that have not improved for many years, it is expected to contribute to healthcare cost reduction.

Based on the achievements of founder Hidehiko Hino's activities, our association estimates an annual medical cost reduction effect of approximately 960 million yen.

Building on this track record, the effect varies depending on the scale of instructor activities, the number of target individuals, and the presence of continuous guidance. However, for instructors who are continuously active on a certain scale, there is a potential for medical cost reduction effects ranging from tens of millions to hundreds of millions of yen annually. In the future, if a system of 3,000 instructors is established nationwide, it could lead to a medical cost reduction of approximately 1 trillion yen across Japan, even considering differences in activity scale, which is the association's goal.

This Noto Recovery Support Symposium is also held as part of "Recovery Support from a Health Perspective."
