Survey of 312 Single Households and Childless Couples! Mako Deluxe Ranks First in 'Celebrities You'd Like as a Neighbor'

Ikiiki Life Association Omiya Chuo (Location: Kita Ward, Saitama City; Representative: Osamu Yamaguchi; https://ikiiki-life.net/), which provides post-death administrative entrustment services, conducted a survey targeting 312 single households (O-hitorisama) and childless couples (O-futarusama) aged 40 and over, regarding their future personal affairs.

In recent years, against the backdrop of an increase in single households and changes in family structures, more people are considering preparations for old age and after death. Especially for single individuals or couples without children, it is not uncommon to feel anxious about who to entrust their personal affairs to in the event of an emergency.

Therefore, we conducted a survey on future personal affairs among 312 single households and childless couples aged 40 and over, and we would like to present the results.

*The gender ratio of respondents was 41% male and 59% female. The age distribution was 40s at 67%, 50s at 26.6%, and 60s and above at 6.4%.

- The No. 1 celebrity you'd like as a neighbor is "Mako Deluxe" (83 people), followed by "George Tokoro" (79 people) at No. 2, and "Yuki Amami" (78 people) at No. 3.

- The most common concern about 'after death' was "tidying up household belongings and personal effects left at home" (199 people). This was followed by "deleting data from smartphones and computers" (150 people), and "canceling credit cards and bank accounts" (148 people).

- When entrusting post-death tidying and various procedures to a service provider, the most desired mechanism for peace of mind was "collaboration with administrative bodies and professional organizations" (130 people). This was followed by "minimizing upfront payments and allowing settlement from the estate after death" (118 people), and "a 24/7 emergency call and safety confirmation system" (112 people).

When asked "Please tell us which celebrities you'd like as a neighbor (multiple answers allowed)," the results were: No. 1 "Mako Deluxe" (83 people), No. 2 "George Tokoro" (79 people), and No. 3 "Yuki Amami" (78 people).
