Kamakura Fish Shop and Liquor Store Collaboration Event, Long-Awaited Second Edition! "Izakaya Marukama with Suzukaya Saketen vol.2" to be Held on Sunday, May 31

Sakanaya Marukama, a fish shop in Imaizumidai, Kamakura City (operated by the General Incorporated Association Kamakura Fish Cooperative Sales Association, Representative Director Sachiko Tajima), and Suzukaya Saketen, a natural wine specialist in Yuigahama, Kamakura, are collaborating once again.

The one-day event "Izakaya Marukama with Suzukaya Saketen vol.2," where visitors can enjoy fish dishes and natural wines, will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Kitakamakuradai Shopping Street.

The first event, held last November, was a great success, attracting both local residents and visitors from afar. The combination of "fish dishes x natural wine," leveraging the expertise of both the fish shop and the liquor store, was well-received, and the usually quiet shopping street was bustling with many visitors.

For this second event, a "one-day supreme corner bar" will open again, focusing on "fish dishes that bring out the individuality of fish" unique to a fish shop, and natural wine pairings proposed by a liquor store, allowing guests to savor fish, wine, and human interaction. This time, content from "merry companions" such as live music and tarot readings will also be added to further enliven the shopping street.

Popular moray eel skewers (served if moray eel is available). Suggestions for eating sashimi that pairs well with wine.

On the day of the event, sashimi, fried dishes, and grilled seafood skewers made with Marukama's natural fish will be offered on a cash-on-delivery basis. Enjoy seasonal fish mainly from Akune, Kagoshima, and Sagami Bay.

The dishes will be prepared mainly by Marukama staff who have trained for over 40 years under Mr. Kihatsu Kumagai, and also by Katsuhiko Ueda, Marukama's advisor and known as the "Fish Evangelist."

The theme is "Dishes that bring out the individuality of fish."

In addition to Marukama's standard sashimi and side dishes, many limited-time menus will also appear. The fish shop will also offer unique suggestions, such as "how to enjoy sashimi" paired with natural wine.

Suzukaya Saketen is a long-established liquor store in Yuigahama, Kamakura, founded over 100 years ago. It is now a natural wine specialist, supported by restaurants and food professionals nationwide.

On the day of the event, a wide selection of natural wines carefully chosen to match the day's dishes will be offered. You can enjoy free pairing with fish dishes. Even if you are not familiar with natural wines, it's okay. Suzukaya Saketen staff will carefully suggest pairings according to the dishes and your preferences, so even beginners can enjoy it casually.

This time, unique guests will liven up the venue with the concept of an adult carnival.

Hong Kong Road Mokuryu Tea Room

A reservation-only tea room in Yokohama Chinatown. It offers tea time centered on Taiwanese and Chinese teas, tailored to each person's physical condition and the season.

On the day of the event, a cup of warm tea, cold tea, or medicinal herbal tea will be prepared to gently soothe your mind and body. You can experience "a new way to enjoy tea" that subtly complements fish dishes and natural wines. Tea leaves and medicinal ingredients are also planned to be sold.
