The Generative AI Utilization Promotion Association (GUGA), an organization aiming to implement generative AI in society and restructure industries (Chairman: Satoshi Ihabata; Location: Chuo-ku, Tokyo), has announced the results of the 'Generative AI Passport Exam' held from April 1, 2026 (Wed) to April 30, 2026 (Thu).

In the April exam, held for the first time due to an increase in exam frequency, 9,436 people took the test, and 7,487 passed. With the cumulative number of examinees surpassing 92,000, we recognize the rising demand for visualizing companies and personnel possessing the literacy to safely utilize generative AI, and we will continue to promote efforts for its further dissemination.

About the Generative AI Passport

The Generative AI Passport is one of Japan's largest certification exams aimed at preventing generative AI risks. It covers fundamental knowledge, trends, and application methods of generative AI, as well as cautions regarding information leakage and rights infringement. It allows AI beginners to systematically acquire the essential literacy they should possess. Through providing this qualification, we visualize companies and human resources equipped with the literacy necessary for the safe utilization of generative AI, and promote the standardization of AI literacy in Japanese society.

The number of examinees for the 'Generative AI Passport Exam' held from April 1, 2026 (Wed) to April 30, 2026 (Thu) was 9,436, with 7,487 passing, resulting in a pass rate of 79.35%. As of April 2026, the cumulative number of examinees for the Generative AI Passport was 92,738, and the cumulative number of certified individuals was 72,841.
