Announcement of the 5th National Veteran Padel Tournament

The Japan Padel Association (JPA) announced that it will host the "5th National Veteran Padel Tournament" for two days on Saturday, May 23 and Sunday, May 24, 2026, at PADEL DOJO (Amagasaki City, Hyogo Prefecture).

This tournament is the highest-level veteran category competition in Japan organized by the JPA. A total of 58 pairs, both male and female, are scheduled to participate in this year's event, drawing national attention as a symbol of the growing popularity of padel.

Furthermore, this tournament serves as one of the selection events for the Japanese national team for the "FIP Senior World Cup 2026," to be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from September 14 to 19, 2026, making it the largest veteran tournament in Japan. Fierce competition is expected as players vie for a ticket to the world stage.

In addition, padel is gaining competitive value in the Asian region, for example, by being adopted as an official sport in the Asian Games in 2026. This tournament is a crucial event that will contribute to the sport's promotion and increased recognition as a lifelong sport in Japan, as well as fostering momentum for international participation.
