June 2nd (Tue): '3rd Blue Economy Japan Summit' Announced

Six months have passed since the 'Ocean Expo' concluded. During the expo, the potential for new industries and innovation using Japan's maritime assets was presented.

The global blue economy is projected to exceed $3 trillion (approximately 450–500 trillion yen) by 2030. For Japan, surrounded by sea on all sides and possessing the world's 6th largest Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), this domain is positioned as a frontier for creating new industries by leveraging geopolitical strengths.

The Blue Economy Co-creation Sub-committee of the Yumeshima New Industry and City Creation Organization is engaged in a wide range of activities to foster sustainable growth beyond the Expo. These include creating new marine businesses ('Umi-gyo'), focusing on environment/energy, blue carbon, and developing high-end blue inbound tourism services ahead of the IR (Integrated Resort) opening.

In November this year, the '45th National Convention for the Development of Abundant Sea' will be held, with Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress expected to attend. The organization plans to exhibit at the event to accelerate its sub-committee's activities. We invite you to join the '3rd Blue Economy Japan Summit'.
