It is also a famous cherry blossom spot, popular for its 1.1-kilometer-long avenue of 156 cherry trees, the contrast with the pine trees, and collaborations with contemporary art pieces. Around Kanchogai-dori, the annual Towada City Spring Festival is held during the cherry blossom season, welcoming many visitors each year. In 2026, due to temperature trends since early spring, the cherry blossoms around Kanchogai-dori are expected to bloom earlier than usual.
