The Game of the Year Will Be Decided! Public Voting Begins Today, June 12th (Friday), for the Japan Game Awards 2026 "Game of the Year Division"!

The Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association (CESA, Chairman: Haruhiro Tsujimo) is pleased to announce that public voting for the "Game of the Year Division" of the Japan Game Awards 2026, which selects and honors game titles that represent the year, will begin today, June 12th (Friday). This year's eligible titles are those released in Japan between June 1st, 2025, and May 31st, 2026, from which the game titles representing the year will be selected.
The voting deadline is July 17th (Friday) at 23:59 (Japan time). For details on how to vote and other information, please visit the official Japan Game Awards website.

◼︎ Vote and Win a Chance to Receive Prizes Such as Game Consoles!

This year, among those who vote, we will randomly select winners to receive luxurious prizes, including various game consoles such as the PlayStation®5 Pro, Nintendo Switch™2 (Japanese version, domestic use only), and XBOX Series X, as well as "Game of the Year Division" winning software or related merchandise, tickets to Tokyo Game Show 2026, and special invitations to the Japan Game Awards "Game of the Year Division" Announcement & Awards Ceremony. Approximately 350 winners will receive these prizes.

The Japan Game Awards "Game of the Year Division" is an award that selects and honors outstanding computer entertainment software titles worthy of representing the year. This year, following the public voting period from June 12th (Friday) to July 17th (Friday), the "Grand Prize" and "Excellence Awards" (for applicable titles) will be decided after deliberation by the Japan Game Awards Judging Committee. Eligible Titles: All computer entertainment software titles released in Japan between June 1st, 2025, and May 31st, 2026.

* The platform type, such as home game consoles, portable game consoles, PCs, and smartphones, does not matter.

* This includes Japanese localizations of overseas titles.

Voting Period: From June 12th, 2026 (Friday) 13:00 to July 17th, 2026 (Friday) 23:59 (Japan time).

Eligibility: Voting is open to anyone regardless of gender, age, nationality, location, gaming experience, or ownership.

* However, only one vote per person for one title is valid.

* Lottery for the voting campaign is limited to residents of Japan.
