Vena Energy to Hold the 4th "Renewable Energy Overseas Training Program for High School Students"

Vena Group, which develops green solution businesses in the Asia-Pacific region, announced that it will hold the 4th "Vena Energy Renewable Energy Overseas Training Program for High School Students" starting August 17, 2026.

This program, marking its 4th year, is one of our key initiatives aimed at deepening the understanding of renewable energy and sustainability, as well as the role the next generation must play in realizing a decarbonized society. Through practical experiences at project sites in Japan and Taiwan, participants will systematically understand the process from development to operation of clean energy businesses and explore multifaceted perspectives toward realizing a sustainable and inclusive society.

Highlight Video of the 2025 Overseas Training Program

This program begins with a visit to the Kasama Solar Power Plant (Kasama City, Ibaraki Prefecture), operated and managed by our company. This power plant was selected for the FY2024 "Community-Coexisting Renewable Energy Business Commendation" by the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and participants will learn about long-term stable business operations advanced jointly by renewable energy operators and local communities.

In Taiwan, participants will visit the Mingas Solar Power Plant, a prominent regional solar plant built on the ruins of a former salt field. This power plant features a wildlife conservation area aimed at preserving biodiversity, serving as a habitat for migratory birds including the endangered black-faced spoonbill. Through these initiatives, students will learn examples of achieving both renewable energy and environmental conservation. Furthermore, they will visit "TRAINERGY (Wind Asia Training)," a GWO (Global Wind Organization) certified training facility based in Chiayi, Taiwan. By experiencing safety drills and practical training based on international standards in the offshore wind sector, they will deepen their understanding of the skills and knowledge required for human resources supporting the expanding renewable energy field.

This program provides an opportunity to comprehensively understand renewable energy, not just as a clean power source, but as an entity that supports local economic development, environmental conservation, and the sustainable development of local communities.

Results and Learnings from the 2025 Program
Participants of the 2025 program presented their learning outcomes at Vena Energy's Tokyo office, sharing specific ideas to increase interest and understanding of renewable energy. Many practical and creative ideas were presented, ranging from hands-on activities using hand-crank generators to convey the difficulty of generating electricity, to proposals for stamp rallies using apps that encourage behavioral changes in daily life.

In addition, participants shared the following thoughts on their learnings and realizations gained through the program:

"I felt a sense of crisis that many people might just end up thinking they know about energy. Through participating in this training, I realized the difficulty of solving energy issues and strongly felt that I want to be of some help. It also became an opportunity to think about my own potential."

"Before the training, I only had the impression that renewable energy was good for the environment, but I felt that it can only be called truly sustainable if there is consideration for the surrounding natural environment."

"The training gave me an opportunity to think about what truly environmentally friendly renewable energy should look like. I want to go to the engineering department in university, so I want to deepen my understanding of renewable energy from the mechanical and electrical perspectives."
