Warner Bros. Announces Digital Release of 'The Bride!' and Physical Release on August 5

Warner Bros. Japan LLC has announced that digital sales and rentals for the film 'The Bride!' commence today, May 22, 2026. This latest work is directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal, known for the Venice Film Festival award-winning film 'The Lost Daughter.' The film boldly reimagines the 1930s 'Bride' figure, merging gothic horror with modern themes of female agency and solitude. It tells the story of love and destruction between a lonely monster named Frank and his Bride, resurrected from the grave by his hands, as they bond during their honeymoon escape.

The film inherits the 'doomed romance' tradition seen in classics like 'Bonnie and Clyde' (1967) and 'Natural Born Killers' (1994), presenting a new frontier in the 'runaway romance' genre.

The Bride is played by Academy Award-winning actress Jessie Buckley, while Christian Bale delivers a dedicated performance as Frank, utilizing extensive special effects makeup. The film also features a stellar cast including Annette Bening, Peter Sarsgaard, Penélope Cruz, and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Digital editions include 31 minutes of exclusive bonus content, divided into chapters covering behind-the-scenes production, character design, the escape journey, and the cast.
