Tokyo Event on July 9: Matsue-Style Workation – A New Approach to Work and Regional Challenges in Matsue, Shimane Prefecture

【Event in Tokyo】Recharge your mind and body in 'The City of Water, Matsue' and connect with the local community. Experience the evolving reality of the 'Matsue-style Workation' at this networking event.

Since 2019, prior to the pandemic, Matsue City in Shimane Prefecture has been promoting its unique 'Matsue-style Workation.' To date, 148 companies and 264 individuals, primarily from urban areas, have participated.

◆ Features of the 'Matsue-style Workation'

1. Engage with Real Regional Challenges
Go beyond sightseeing and remote work by deeply interacting with local stakeholders active in Matsue. By confronting the real challenges faced by rural areas, participants can discover new business opportunities and seeds for co-creation.

2. Reflect on Yourself in a Rich Natural Environment
In addition to working in comfortable workspaces, participants engage in stress management and mindfulness training to enhance their performance and well-being.

3. Building Lasting 'Relational Population'
The experience doesn’t end with a single visit. Many urban business professionals return repeatedly as repeat visitors or continue to engage in local problem-solving projects, maintaining long-term connections with Matsue as part of its 'relational population.'

This time, an event will be held at the Tokyo Kotsu Kaikan to introduce real case studies from past participants and to preview this year’s two major programs: the 'Mindful Workation' and the 'Regional Problem-Solving Workation.'

On the day, many participants who have implemented the program at their companies or who have visited Matsue multiple times as individuals will attend.
