Watami Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Ota-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter 'Watami'), which operates in Japan the No.1 Korean fried chicken brand 'bb.q Olive Chicken Cafe' (hereinafter 'Olive Chicken Cafe'), will launch a limited-time 'K-FOOD FAIR' starting Thursday, July 16, offering Korean cuisine in bb.q's unique style. Three limited-time menu items will debut: the 'Colorful Namul and Chicken No-Roll Kimbap,' which reimagines Korea's classic 'kimbap' by layering namul and fried chicken over seaweed-seasoned rice; the highly popular 'Spicy Bibim Noodles,' returning by popular demand; and the easy-to-enjoy 'Korean-style Cold Chinese Noodles.' Guests can enjoy the diverse and authentic flavors of Korea.
K-FOOD FAIR │ Starts 7/16 (Thu)
【Three Signature Dishes, Reimagined in bb.q Style】
For the 'K-FOOD FAIR,' three limited-time menu items reinterpret Korea's classic dishes with bb.q's signature twist. From hearty rice bowls to refreshing noodle dishes perfect for summer, and convenient mini-sized options, guests can enjoy a wide range of flavors.
'Colorful Namul and Chicken No-Roll Kimbap'
A bb.q-style rice dish that lets you enjoy Korea's classic 'kimbap' without rolling it in seaweed. Multigrain rice is layered with takuan (pickled radish), carrot rabe, bean sprout namul, komatsuna namul, Korean seaweed, and chicken fingers. Enjoy each ingredient individually, or mix thoroughly to experience a harmonious flavor reminiscent of traditional kimbap. The pleasant crunch and sweetness of takuan add a delightful accent, making this a satisfying dish ideal for those who prefer milder flavors.
'Spicy Bibim Noodles'
The beloved 'Spicy Bibim Noodles' returns for a limited time following last year's success. Smooth, chewy, and springy Myeongdong cold noodles are coated in a sweet and spicy sauce based on gochujang. Mix well with namul and a soft-boiled onsen egg to mellow the spiciness and create a unified, flavorful blend of noodles and toppings. Add the separately provided ma-la sauce to customize the heat and tingling sensation to your preference.
'Korean-style Cold Chinese Noodles'
Chinese noodles with a springy, chewy texture and smooth throat feel are given a Korean twist. The red sauce isn't as spicy as it looks—its rich umami is accented by the aromatic scent of Sichuan pepper and a subtle numbing tingle. This mini-sized dish is perfect as an extra side, offering a balanced harmony of noodles, toppings, and sauce.
