IWC Schaffhausen supports Laureus Sport for Good, unveils new Pilot's Watch Chronograph Laureus

SCHAFFHAUSEN/GENEVA, April 2026: IWC Schaffhausen has unveiled the latest special edition dedicated to Laureus Sport for Good, the Pilot's Watch Chronograph Laureus (Ref: IW378010). This 43mm stainless steel chronograph, limited to 1,000 pieces, features the distinctive Laureus blue dial and a stainless steel bracelet, celebrating over two decades of partnership.

IWC Schaffhausen highlights the German "Fussballo Girls" initiative, showcasing efforts to empower girls and young women through football. Since 2005, IWC has been a global partner of Laureus Sport for Good, marking one of its longest partnerships. In 2000, Nelson Mandela declared that "sport has the power to change the world" and founded the foundation. Laureus Sport for Good currently supports over 290 programs in more than 36 countries.

It guides individuals to overcome violence, discrimination, and disadvantage through sport, transforming the lives of over 7 million children and young people worldwide. As part of this commitment, IWC has released an annual special edition since 2006, characterized by the Laureus blue dial. This tradition continues this year with a new variation added to the Pilot's Watch collection. The Pilot's Watch Chronograph Laureus (Ref. IW378010), limited to 1,000 pieces worldwide, features a 43mm stainless steel case. The Laureus blue dial is distinctive with silver-plated subdials and rhodium-plated hands with Super-LumiNova®.

True to the Pilot's Watch design codes, the dial is clean and easy to read, with two chronograph totalizers at 9 and 12 o'clock, and a small seconds indicator at 6 o'clock.

Another convenient feature is the day and date display at 3 o'clock. Hour markers and numerals are printed in white on the dial for enhanced legibility. It is fitted with a 5-link stainless steel bracelet equipped with IWC's EasX-CHANGE® system, allowing tool-free exchange between the metal bracelet and another strap. The case back ring is made of stainless steel and engraved with the foundation's name.

Equipped with a high-performance chronograph movement

This chronograph is powered by the IWC-manufactured calibre 69385. Designed with a focus on performance, reliability, and precision, this mechanical chronograph, featuring a traditional column wheel, allows for accurate time measurements up to 12 hours. Two counters at 9 and 12 o'clock display the measured hours and minutes. IWC's unique vertically aligned counter layout ensures the minute totalizer is displayed directly below the 12 o'clock position, enhancing legibility. The movement's bidirectional pawl-winding system reliably stores a 46-hour power reserve in the mainspring. The movement is decorated with circular graining and Geneva stripes and can be admired through the sapphire glass case back.

Fussballo Girls utilize football as a force for equality

This year, IWC is focusing on the German Laureus support program, "Fussballo Girls," to empower girls and young women through football. Operated by the non-profit organization "Integration durch Sport und Bildung e.V." and supported by Laureus, this program collaborates with schools and community centers nationwide to host weekly free football sessions.

Started as a pilot project in a district of Oldenburg in 2000, this initiative has grown into Germany's largest girls' football initiative outside of organized sports, reaching over 1,500 participants weekly through more than 1,200 sessions annually. There are no costs, no prior experience required, and no pressure to perform. The focus is on fun, inclusivity, and building self-confidence. Older participants are trained as coaches and take on leadership roles, becoming role models for younger girls. 84 percent of participants report improved self-determination and social competence, and over 95 percent believe football is not just for boys.
