IWC Schaffhausen Redefines the Perpetual Calendar with 'IWC-ProSet'

Schaffhausen/Geneva, April 14, 2026. IWC Schaffhausen unveiled the Perpetual Calendar IWC-ProSet at the Watches and Wonders exhibition that opened in Geneva. This groundbreaking model in modern watchmaking heralds the beginning of the next chapter for IWC's perpetual calendars. Thanks to a design based on fully synchronized wheels, for the first time, seamless forward and backward adjustments are possible, making the setting and operation of the calendar easier and more intuitive than ever before. The accuracy of the moon phase display, which deviates by only one day in 1,040 years, has also reached new heights. This innovative calendar mechanism is introduced in three models: 18K red gold, white ceramic, and stainless steel, all powered by the IWC-manufactured 82665 caliber.

Displaying the complex rhythm of the Gregorian calendar on the dial of a mechanical watch has been one of the greatest challenges in haute horlogerie. IWC Schaffhausen began tackling this challenge over 40 years ago. In 1985, the 'Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Chronograph' (Ref. IW3750) announced the genius of Kurt Klaus to the world. And the ingenious perpetual calendar controlled by the crown firmly established this complication for decades. Influenced by Kurt Klaus's pioneering spirit and bold vision, the next generation of IWC engineers is now inheriting the legacy passed down from Kurt Klaus, carrying it into the future with the new perpetual calendar, 'IWC-ProSet.'

'The Perpetual Calendar ProSet is the culmination of the expertise accumulated by IWC watchmakers and engineers regarding mechanical calendar complications. Protected by multiple patent applications, this groundbreaking mechanism redefines how a perpetual calendar is set and operated. The fully synchronized design is completely wheel-based, making adjusting the calendar forward or backward as simple and intuitive as setting the time,' explained Christoph Grainger-Herr, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen.

The Perpetual Calendar ProSet is available in three versions.

- The 'Big Pilot's Watch Perpetual Calendar ProSet "Le Petit Prince"' (Ref. IW339601) features a 43 mm white zirconium oxide ceramic case and a deep blue dial with a gradient finish. The numerals and indices on the dial are printed in white, and the rhodium-plated hands are coated with Super-LumiNova. This watch is paired with a white rubber strap equipped with the EasX-CHANGE system.

- The 'Big Pilot's Watch Perpetual Calendar ProSet "Le Petit Prince"' (Ref. IW329601) features a 42 mm stainless steel case and a 5-link stainless steel bracelet equipped with the EasX-CHANGE system. The indices and numerals on the deep blue dial are rhodium-plated appliques, and the hands are also rhodium-plated, with both the applied indices and hands coated in Super-LumiNova. This watch comes with a replacement blue rubber strap. The built-in EasX-CHANGE system allows the metal bracelet to be quickly and easily swapped for the rubber strap without the need for tools.
Both models feature a stainless steel crown and a stainless steel case back ring engraved with 'Edition Le Petit Prince'. In homage to Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's most famous novel, the rotor of the automatic winding mechanism is adorned with a gold-plated medallion depicting 'The Little Prince' standing on his asteroid.

- The 'Big Pilot's Watch Perpetual Calendar ProSet' (Ref. IW329602) features a 42 mm 18K red gold case, crown, and case back ring. The dark olive green dial beautifully complements the precious metal of the case. The gold applied indices and numerals, as well as the gold-plated hands, are coated with Super-LumiNova.
