Construction of a New Factory for Data Center Emergency Power Generation Systems in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture

Yanmar Energy System Co., Ltd., a group company of Yanmar Holdings, will begin construction of a new factory in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, to meet the robust demand for emergency power generation systems in data centers.

This factory is planned to commence operations within 2028 as the core facility for its manufacturing subsidiary, Yanmar Energy System Manufacturing Co., Ltd. For the acquisition of the factory site, a location agreement was signed with Kitakyushu City on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

To meet the rapidly expanding Business Continuity Planning (BCP) demand for data centers, Yanmar Energy System announced the high-capacity emergency power generation system 'GY175 Series' in October 2025. In addition to existing models supporting the 2,000kVA class, the company will expand its lineup to the 3,000kVA class from FY2026 onwards, and the 4,000kVA class from FY2028 onwards. Moving forward, with the new Kitakyushu factory playing a central role, the company will strengthen its lineup and supply system to handle BCP demands for large-scale facilities such as factories, buildings, and hospitals, in addition to data centers essential for promoting DX, including AI.

In the future, the company aims to have the factory fully operational as a core base in energy system manufacturing, with a view to producing energy system equipment that contributes to carbon neutrality, alongside emergency power generation systems.

Kitakyushu City is an ideal location equipped with manufacturing infrastructure, including comprehensive land, sea, and air logistics bases and an accumulation of suppliers. Furthermore, as the clustering of renewable energy-related industries progresses in the area, it aligns with the direction the Yanmar Group is aiming for. It was selected as the new hub also due to the ease of coordinating with our related manufacturing bases in Fukuoka, Okayama, and Hyogo prefectures.
