Ota City Factory Network Crafts Official Plates for Global Projection Mapping Competition TOKYO LIGHTS 2026

Muso Kogyo Co., Ltd. (Ota-ku, Tokyo / CEO Tetsuji Obari) has completed the production of five types of official prize plates for 'TOKYO LIGHTS 2026 / 1minute Projection Mapping Competition,' one of the world's largest international projection mapping events. The event is organized by the TOKYO LIGHTS 2026 Executive Committee and co-hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, scheduled for May 23–31, 2026. Detailed project information is being released ahead of the award ceremony on May 30.

This project was conducted as a demonstration of 'Distributed Manufacturing' through a network of eight specialized technical companies based in Ota City. The finished plates will be presented at the award ceremony at the Citizens' Plaza of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building on May 30 to five winning teams selected from 412 entries from 65 countries and regions.

### Features — Fusion of Metal and Edo Kiriko
Stainless steel (SUS304) was chosen for the plate body. It features a 3D sculpted shape with cherry blossom petal cut-outs along the perimeter. Traditional Edo Kiriko glass, crafted by Horiguchi Kiriko, is set at the center to represent the fusion of tradition and innovation.

The five plates feature glass in green, blue, purple, red, and yellow. The contrast between the silver metallic body and the colored glass causes vibrant colors to emerge when caught by light. The Grand Prize plate has a diameter of 270mm, while the other four are 200mm.

### Production System — A Trinity of Design, Metalwork, and Craft
#### Art Direction
Led by Michiyuki Ishita (Representative Director, Projection Mapping Association / Colors Creation Co., Ltd.). He oversaw the entire design process, including the selection of Edo Kiriko colors and cut patterns, dimensional balance with the metal body, and blast surface finish patterns.

Muso Kogyo acted as the overall orchestrator, linking the specialized skills of eight companies:

### Role of Muso Kogyo
1. **Orchestration**: Managed process design, quality control, and schedule coordination among the eight companies, enabling completion within a short timeframe.
2. **3D CNC Machining**: Responsible for cutting the SUS304 body. Aimed for near-mirror precision during the cutting phase to ensure the beauty and efficiency of subsequent polishing and blasting processes.
