Midori Anzen Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Ken-saku Matsumura), a seller of safety shoes and workwear, launched two models of static dissipative safety shoes featuring the "BOA® PerformFitTM Wrap" structure, a first in Japan* for JIS-compliant safety shoes, on June 22, 2026. These models are the "PRM210BOA Static" (short shoe type) and "PRM220BOA Static" (mid-calf type), positioned as high-end models in the "Premium High Verde" series.
Both products are new items that have evolved from the BOA® Fit System to the advanced "BOA® PerformFitTM Wrap" design, realizing an innovative structure that wraps the midfoot with a surface. By supporting the midfoot with a wide surface area, the structure pursues a secure hold around the heel and a unified feel with the shoe. The fit can be finely adjusted by turning the dial, and it can be quickly loosened by pulling up the dial, allowing for smooth donning/doffing and re-tightening during work. In addition to basic safety shoe performance, these are static dissipative safety shoes that comply with JIS T8103, the standard for static dissipative footwear (ED-P/C2/CI/S/P1/F2). They are suitable for a wide range of industries including manufacturing, construction, logistics, and aviation. They can also be used in work environments where static electricity countermeasures are required.

*Based on data held by BOA, the provider of the "BOA® Fit System" (as of June 2026). This is the first product in Japan to adopt the "BOA® PerformFitTM Wrap" structure for midfoot support in static dissipative safety shoes compliant with JIS T8103 sold in Japan. Note that work shoes equipped with the BOA® Fit System are also sold by other companies.
Development Background: "Falls" are the most common cause of industrial accidents. Focus on slip resistance, as well as the integration of foot and shoe.
According to the "Status of Industrial Accidents in Reiwa 7" released by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare on May 27, 2026, there were 135,333 deaths and injuries requiring 4 or more days of leave in 2025. Of these, "falls" accounted for the largest number of accident types with 37,195 cases, representing approximately 27.5% of the total.
To support the safety of workers in the field, not only slip resistance of the sole but also the integration of the foot and shoe, fit that supports long-term wear, and ease of donning/doffing and adjustment are important.
In response to these needs from the field, Midori Anzen has developed new products that combine the fit structure created by the "BOA® PerformFitTM Wrap" which wraps the midfoot with a surface, with JIS-based safety performance.
*The above statistics indicate the overall status of industrial accidents. They do not demonstrate the effect of reducing fall accidents by wearing this product.

Product Features
Feature 1: "BOA® PerformFitTM Wrap" wraps the midfoot with a surface
While traditional shoelace structures tighten through multiple eyelets, the "BOA® PerformFitTM Wrap" fits by having upper panels cover the midfoot. By supporting the midfoot with a wide surface area, it enhances the hold of the heel and the integration with the midsole, while also considering the ease of movement in the forefoot.
Verification of this structure by BOA's "BOA Performance Fit Lab" reports that heel hold and midsole integration improved by up to approximately 3%, and ankle stability improved by up to approximately 7% compared to traditional shoelace structures.

*These are maximum values from tests on a trial model adopting the BOA® PerformFitTM Wrap structure. They are not individual measurement values for "PRM210BOA Static" or "PRM220BOA Static." Results may vary depending on test conditions and usage environment.
Feature 2: Fine adjustment with dial operation for quick donning and doffing
The "BOA® Fit System" allows for micro-adjustments of the fit in increments of millimeters by turning the dial. When you need to adjust the fit during work, there's no need to retie shoelaces; you can re-tighten with a dial operation. Pulling up the dial releases the tension, allowing you to quickly remove the shoes.
Feature 3: JIS-compliant static dissipative performance
These products comply with the static dissipative performance of JIS T8103. They dissipate static electricity from the sole and suppress charge buildup.
Key specifications are as follows:
- Standard: JIS T8103 (ED-P/C2)/CI/S/P1/F2
- Toe cap: New wide resin toe cap
- Slip resistance class: F2
Feature 4: "Premium High Verde" specifications to support long work hours
The Premium High Verde series is Midori Anzen's high-end safety shoe series that balances excellent comfort and slip resistance. These two products use soft-embossed chrome-tanned leather for the upper. The sole uses a dual-layer expanded polyurethane sole that offers both cushioning and durability. Additionally, they incorporate a 3D insole that conforms to the sole of the foot and a last designed with consideration for hold around the heel and arch.
Premium High Verde specifications focused on comfort
- 3D insole that fits the sole of the foot
- Cushioning structure that disperses impact
- New last design that prevents foot sway
- Toe shape designed to prevent tripping
- Ultra-slip-resistant sole that is difficult to slip on wet or oily floors
"PRM210BOA Static" is a short shoe type that is easy to put on and take off, while "PRM220BOA Static" is a mid-calf type that covers up to the ankle area.
