The documentary film 'Immediate Family' depicts four session musicians—Danny Kortchmar (guitar), Waddy Wachtel (guitar), Leland Sklar (bass), and Russ Kunkel (drums)—who silently supported the American West Coast sound from the 1970s to the 1980s. It will be released in theaters from June 19th.

The first half of the film depicts their recordings and tours with James Taylor, Carole King, Linda Ronstadt, Jackson Browne, and others, interspersed with testimonies from those involved. The second half portrays them as solo artists, involved in recordings and music production for Don Henley (Eagles), Neil Young, Stevie Nicks (Fleetwood Mac), Keith Richards, Phil Collins, and others.

The main feature begins with Russ Kunkel's drumming, followed by guitarist Danny Kortchmar recalling his collaborations with James Taylor and Carole King, speaking about his love and passion for music, and features the reunited current members in a recording session.

The director is Denny Tedesco, who produced and directed the film 'The Wrecking Crew' (released in Japan in 2016), which focused on the studio musicians who supported the American music scene of the 60s and 70s.

The film 'Immediate Family' will be released in theaters from Friday, June 19th at TOHO Cinemas Chanter, kino cinéma Shinjuku, YEBISU GARDEN CINEMA, and others.
