IAFF 2026 Grand Prix Winner [MAZDA Documentary] 25 Years with RX-7, the Last 3 Days ~What the Car Left Behind~ Directed by Riichi Ogawa (LUCK Inc.)
Mazda Motor Corporation (hereinafter 'Mazda') is pleased to announce that the documentary video '25 Years with RX-7, the Last 3 Days ~What the Car Left Behind~', produced by the official owned media 'MAZDA MIRAI BASE', has won the Grand Prix and the TEAM UKYO Award at the 'International Auto Film Festa powered by DUNLOP 2026'.
International Auto Film Festa powered by DUNLOP 2026 is an international film festival for short movies with the theme of automobiles. In 2026, 519 works from 73 countries were entered. This work won the Grand Prix, the highest award, and also received the special TEAM UKYO Award, becoming the first work in IAFF history to achieve a double win.
This work is a documentary depicting the 'last 3 days' before Ms. Naoko Nishimoto, a resident of Nagasaki Prefecture, decided to give up her MAZDA RX-7 (FD3S) which she had cherished for 25 years, upon surrendering her driver's license at the age of 80. The film was highly evaluated for its delicate portrayal of the time spent with the car and the value those memories leave behind in people.
To commemorate this award, Mazda will screen the IAFF 2026 finalist works, including this winning film, at the 'MAZDA TRANS AOYAMA' 2F lounge in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo, from Tuesday, May 12, 2026, to Sunday, May 17, 2026.
During this period, visitors can view a variety of internationally acclaimed automotive film works.
