The Healthcare AIoT Consortium (HIT) will hold a public symposium titled "Towards the Social Implementation of 'Proactive Predictive and Preventive Medicine' ~A Roadmap to a Healthy Society in 2050, Paved by AIoT and Behavioral Change Data~" on Friday, May 29, 2026, to commemorate its 10th anniversary.

This symposium is a public event open not only to HIT members but also to a wide range of participants interested in healthcare DX, AI/IoT utilization, PHR, behavioral change, and preventive medicine in the healthcare sector, including those from medical/healthcare, insurance, finance, pharmaceuticals, IT, local governments, and research institutions. In addition to on-site participation, online participation via Zoom is also available.

Background

In Japan, against the backdrop of increasing medical costs and challenges in the healthcare provision system, there is a demand for a shift from "treatment-centric" medicine, which responds after illness, to "predictive and preventive-centric" medicine, which utilizes daily data to predict and prevent risks before they occur.

To achieve this, it is essential to acquire daily data through IoT, predict risks using AI, design services that promote behavioral change, link with medical DX infrastructure, and establish mechanisms for data utilization that are trusted by individuals and society.

The Healthcare AIoT Consortium is a cross-industry organization that has been working to build a "healthcare information distribution infrastructure" where individuals manage and operate their health, behavior, and environmental data to improve their quality of life and promote behavioral change, as well as an IoT platform to support it.

At this symposium, marking its 10th anniversary, HIT will reflect on its past activities and discuss the future of next-generation healthcare utilizing AI, IoT, and behavioral change data, with speakers active at the forefront of policy, academia, and industry.

Highlights of the Symposium

This symposium will cover diverse themes, including the direction of healthcare DX by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), behavioral change and incentive design in InsurTech, and the possibilities of predictive and preventive medicine through mathematical science.

Furthermore, a panel discussion will delve into how to socially implement "predictive and preventive medicine" from the perspectives of policy, research, industry, and system design. Beyond merely introducing technology, it will explore concrete directions for building healthcare services and data utilization platforms that are rooted in society.
