Modern Luxury Tequila 'Maestro Dobel,' Born from Over 250 Years of Tradition and Innovation, Launches Officially in Japan

Proximo Japan Co., Ltd. (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) has officially launched the luxury tequila brand 'Maestro Dobel® Tequila' from Jalisco, Mexico, in the Japanese market, starting June 9, 2026 (Tuesday). The company will serve as the official importer and distributor for the brand in Japan. This marks the first time that Dobel Tequila products are being officially sold in Japan.

Dobel Tequila is a luxury tequila brand born from over 250 years of tradition and craftsmanship in tequila production. By blending traditional methods with innovative thinking, the brand established the world's first 'Cristalino' category. It has led the evolution of tequila by harmonizing the complex, rich flavors derived from aging with a refined, transparent style.

Recently, global spirits markets have shown a growing preference for 'quality over quantity.' Demand is expanding for high-end categories that emphasize craftsmanship and storytelling. According to the International Wine and Spirits Record, the global premium spirits market continues to trend toward greater luxury, with increasing attention focused on agave spirits.

Dobel Tequila aims to redefine tequila as a 'modern luxury spirit'—not merely for shots, but as a beverage that highlights the agricultural essence of blue agave, which takes seven years to mature, and invites appreciation of its aging, aroma, and food pairings—introducing a fresh perspective to Japan’s tequila market.

For its Japanese launch, the brand will introduce three products, led by its flagship 'Dobel 50 Cristalino.'

- Dobel Diamante Cristalino Tequila

Recognized as the world’s first (*) Cristalino tequila, this is the brand’s signature model. Reposado, Añejo, and Extra Añejo are precisely blended and then filtered using a proprietary method to achieve a beautifully clear, transparent hue.

Layers of oak, vanilla, cinnamon, almond, and a subtle smokiness create a smooth, refined profile unique to Cristalino. This bottle perfectly embodies Dobel Tequila’s balance of aged depth and clarity.

The aroma evokes toasted oak, vanilla, and caramel, complemented by the natural sweetness and spice from agave, resulting in a smooth, whiskey-like richness.

- Dobel 50 Cristalino Tequila

A luxurious Extra Añejo aged for over three years in Eastern European and American oak barrels. This modern luxury tequila combines the clarity unique to the Cristalino category with the depth derived from aging. It features an exceptionally smooth, silky texture, with a refined taste where the natural sweetness of 100% blue agave harmonizes with delicate barrel notes.

Aromas of caramel and roasted agave blend with fruity notes, subtle vanilla sweetness, and a light herbal touch, making it a special bottle designed for slowly appreciating its aroma and lingering finish.
