Prime Life Technologies Corp. (Minato-ku, Tokyo / President: Masaharu Michiura, hereinafter 'PLT') held the 1st 'Makers Coliseum' on April 24, 2026, in Ota-ku, Tokyo.
This contest is a new type of prototyping technology competition specializing in 'implementation capability (engineering),' the core of manufacturing technology. Unlike traditional contests that compete on ideas, this event focuses on making visible how prototypes are implemented with high technology and originality.
PLT was selected in 2023 through a proposal process as the operator for the 'Former Haneda Asahi Elementary School Site Utilization Project.' This project, conducted in collaboration with the Ota City government, utilizes public-private partnership methods to improve resident services, disaster prevention, ensure manufacturing environments, and reduce fiscal burdens. The plan includes the construction of one community center building and two industrial support facility buildings. The former, 'Community Center Haneda Asahi,' will serve as an exchange hub to revitalize the local community. The latter will include a 'factory apartment' aimed at the sustainable development of local industry by hosting diverse manufacturing companies, along with residential spaces and lifestyle facilities adapted to diverse ways of living and working.
In line with these goals, PLT planned the 'Makers Coliseum' as part of pre-activity in collaboration with the Ota-based 'Venture Friendly Project,' which operates the local factory community. Moving forward, PLT will continue to plan various events like 'Makers Coliseum' to discover new technologies and connect them to implementation, while fostering a community of creators to contribute to the sustainable development of Ota's manufacturing industry and the revitalization of the entire town.
