The End of Manual Inspections: Achieving 'Full Automation' for Indoor Infrastructure Inspections

Blue Innovation Co., Ltd. has announced the release of the 'Repeat Flight' function and cloud integration for the ELIOS 3 indoor inspection drone (manufactured by Flyability), enabling full automation of inspection tasks. As power plants, sewage systems, and various plant facilities age, the need for advanced and labor-saving inspections has become a pressing social issue. Blue Innovation has previously provided drone inspections using the highly stable and maneuverable ELIOS 3, which has been adopted by many companies. However, there has been a growing need for standardized operations that do not rely on pilot skills, as reproducibility in 'fixed-point observation' is crucial for tracking long-term equipment changes. With this update, ELIOS 3 achieves periodic inspections through 'fully autonomous flight.' Even field staff with little piloting experience can perform inspections with a single button. By enabling anyone to perform 'fixed-point observations' under identical conditions, the system achieves substantial automation and labor reduction. This technology accelerates DX in sewage inspection, plant inspection, and infrastructure maintenance. The new features will be showcased at 'Japan Drone 2026,' starting June 3, 2026, at Makuhari Messe.
