Victor Entertainment Hosts Presentation Event 'MUSIC STORM 2026'! Hot New Artists Perform Live!

Victor Entertainment, Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Akira Ono) held the presentation event "MUSIC STORM 2026" at EX THEATER ROPPONGI on Monday, April 20. "MUSIC STORM," which started in 2011 and marks its 15th iteration this time, has been promptly delivering the performances of promising newcomer artists, along with the initiatives of various Victor departments and the main activities of group companies, to stakeholders including media, music distribution services, distribution and retail personnel, and business partners. This year, a total of five acts performed, and we will introduce four highly recommended newcomer artists from our company in this release. Furthermore, Daiki Higuchi, a radio DJ active primarily in Osaka, served as the MC for the event. Along with a diverse and fresh lineup, he energized the venue with his lively talk. Below is the report on the performing artists. Opening "MUSIC STORM 2026" was Maverick Mom, a 4-piece rock band from Ishikawa Prefecture. They have been attracting attention with their catchy sound that fuses different genres and solid lyrics, and they have announced their major debut in May from Victor Entertainment's in-house label, Alternative Standard Club, as a rising star. They performed a total of three songs, including their latest track "Kodoku ni Toku," with Enon Kawatani welcomed as the arranger. Next to appear was Crazy Wow Wow!!, an alternative pop-rock band formed in May 2024 by four classmates from a music school. Their song "Tontsukatantan" is currently a viral hit, recording over 2 billion total views on SNS and ranking No. 1 for four consecutive weeks on the TikTok music chart Viral 50/TOP 50 (Feb 20 - Mar 13). Drawing massive attention for both their music and live shows, with admission restrictions happening consecutively at circuit live events in various locations, the band performed three songs, including "Tontsukatantan." Formed in July 2024, SYAYOS is a 4-piece band based in Ina City, Nagano Prefecture. They are a band gathering public attention in the live house scene for their high musicality, spun from a diverse sound weaving together alternative rock, post-rock, electronica, and J-pop, along with the unadorned and expansive vocals of Vo. & Gt. Hina Suzuki. They performed three songs, including "Music." In the latter half of the event, singer-songwriter Hinata Mochizuki appeared, expressing a groove rooted in R&B and introspective, nostalgic lyrics through a genre-less sound approach, with acoustic playing and singing as her starting point. She won the Grand Prix out of 2,200 applicants nationwide in an audition hosted by Victor Entertainment and made her major debut from Victor Entertainment last year. She delivered three songs, including her latest track "Elevated," with her transparent, husky, and silky voice. At the end of the event, Akira Ono, President and Representative Director of the company, took the stage to express his gratitude to the attendees. In his speech, in addition to mentioning the strong business performance for FY2025, he introduced the new slogan "Good Music, Good Culture," setting forth the impact that quality music has on society and the creation of cultural value as the future business policy. He also touched upon the 100th anniversary year (2027-2028) of Victor's music business, which originated with its founding in 1927, showing enthusiasm to repeat new challenges alongside business partners and all related parties.
