Palsystem Holds Study Session on Health Insurance Reform and 'OTC-like Drug' Burden

Palsystem Kyosai Ren organized a study session to address the 2027 health insurance reform, which introduces a 25% additional charge for 1,100 OTC-like prescription drugs such as Loxonin and Allegra. While the government aims to reduce insurance premiums by approximately 400 JPY annually per person, experts warn that this policy could lead to delayed medical consultations and worsened health conditions, especially among low-wage essential workers and chronic disease patients, potentially increasing long-term social costs.
